Can someone check my credit without my social security number?

I asked to rent an apartment and the announcement says there is no credit check. The application does not ask for my social security number. There is no application fee or credit check. Can you check my credit without my social security number?

    No, you can remove your credit card without your social security number. It is the social security number which makes it unique.
